Tutor Appreciation

The display looks lovely near the door as students move about the tutoring center. The tutors receive and respond to student questions, give hints, show correct next steps, and explain why something is correct or incorrect using effective tutoring techniques, a wonderful scene in the room where you can watch the tutees just thrive. Tucked at the end of the second floor of the H building is our ESL Tutoring Center, an important hub of support for Palomar ESL students working towards their goals. This week is the annual International Tutor Appreciation Week, and it is very important for us to declare that we will never forget all of the supportive work that the tutors do on behalf of our ESL students. Today, plus all the subsequent days of the week, visitors entering the ESL Tutoring Center are strongly encouraged to jot down a few words of appreciation and tape their notes onto that big blue poster.
