Only in America

A lighted-hearted American tradition is making political jokes. Examples of such political humor can be found at this page: http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/jokes/bljokeonlyinamerica.htm.

Don't you think those lines can be good content material for teaching intermediate and advanced-level students inverted word order after only, comparative degree, logical fallacies, critical thinking, a comparison between countries, etc.?

I think they're a great window into American society...and a good context for a grammatical discussion.

Thanks for posting these; I'm sure they'll work their way into my courses next semester.
