Freebie of the Week

Looking for a useful tool to enhance your smart room use? Good news. Mark Russinovich has written a small utility program and offered it for all to download for free. ZoomIt allows you to
  1. zoom up a web page screen that you are presenting
  2. annotate on the screen by typing or drawing over it
  3. put a timer on the screen
I first learned about this program at an AT workshop presentation last summer and have since used it in my classrooms quite effectively. These days, most browsers come with a zooming mechanism, but I still find the other uses of ZoomIt very handy.

If you wish to give the free tool a try, just click here and download it to your flash drive. Then, you can bring your flash drive wherever you go. Just run the exe file from your flash drive whenever you are ready to use the tool. It will put an icon on the status bar of your desktop, which makes it very easy for you to click and activate the tool in no time.

Like I said the program is very small in size, so even if you need to "install" it to the computer you are presenting from, it takes no time at all.

The program is also easy to use in that the instructions are clear and that you can customize and change the default settings (the timer, the key combos, the colors, etc.) rather effortlessly.
