Multi-Event Friday This Week

Our dept. is busy this Friday, April 7th.
  • A monthly department meeting will be held in H-212, 9:30-11:30am. All ESL faculty and staff are welcome.
  • A CATESOL Regional Conference Organizing Committee meeting will follow in the same room to approve our program handbook, among other things.
  • An ELF Skillshop for all levels of students hosted by the ESL Tutoring Center will be held in H-118, 11:00-1:00pm. The interactive workshop will focus on common idioms in English. Participants will leave the workshop with a clear understanding of what it means to say, "College students are hitting the books and burning the midnight oil," for example.
  • A training PD event for staff and faculty hosted by NCHEA will be held in MD-157, 1:00-3:00pm. Many members of our dept. will participate in this workshop replete with resources to support immigrant students, regardless of their status.
  • A once-a-semester Tarde de Familia event for everybody hosted by ALASS will be held in the Student Union, 6:00-8:00pm. Our department will have a table at the free event. All presentations will be given in Spanish at this event, though.
