One Banner to Get Them All

The San Marcos Noncredit Evening Program has a hard time getting visibility. At the beginning of the semester, some faculty members suggested hanging a decent-sized banner on the softball field fence facing Mission Road as a way to promote our classes to the community. It took a team of committed colleagues several months to get all sorts of bureaucratic approval, secure funding, decide on the wording, and review nine versions of the banner design. Now the bilingual banner of 10 feet by 5 feet is about to go to production. After it goes up, drivers up and down Mission Road will take notice. Hopefully, it will send a strong signal to all the people, especially the non-English-speakers, in the adjacent neighborhoods.
