People are different, but the grittier ones succeed. As the semeseter comes to a close, struggling students are what we might call those who tend not to follow through for whatever reason. You might find the following short TED talk of interest. Many ESL students we have need to have more of a growth mindset, not necessarily a higher level of intelligence.
