As we continue to suffer a perfect storm of declining funding and rising costs, these PD events are certainly welcome news:
Event One:
What: The ESL Spring Academic Institute, sponsored by Heinle ESL/Cengage Learning
When: 3/3, Sat., 8:00 am to 12:30 pm
Where: UC Riverside Extension
Highlights: Three "best practices" workshops including one facilitated by the author of Context in Grammar
Freebies: Breakfast, lunch, textbook samples, door prizes, etc.

Event Two:
What: On Course I Workshop, sponsored by Palomar's GRAD program via the Strategic Planning Council
When: either 6/11 to 6/13, Mon. to Wed., or 8/1 to 8/3, Wed. to Fri.; 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day
Where: The Lake San Marcos Resort
Highlights: Three full days of innovative strategies to engage and empower students
Freebies: Breakfasts, lunches, a program workbook with ten units, etc.
