Among things I am loving right now is the free registration to attend and support the upcoming San Diego Regional CATESOL Conference to be held on campus on Sat. April 22. Gary has just sent a dept.-wide email announcing that thanks to funding support from AEBG, the dept. is able to send 30 part-time faculty members to attend the conference by covering their registration fees. You need to reply to him ASAP, however, because the free slots are determined on a first-come-first-served basis.
If you miss the boat, or if you simply wish to be able to brag about how you have won one of the three CATESOL Education Foundation's stipends to attend and support our regional conference, you can apply for it here. Applicants can also
go to their website:
catesolfoundation.org. The due date is Sat. March 4.
Don't forget the deadline to submit a presentation proposal has been extended to Friday, February 24. It is not too late to take your participation to a higher level by becoming a breakout session presenter. You can access the online proposal form here. This is a great opportunity to help support your chosen career.
