As you may know, a faculty-driven learner-centered teaching conference will take place on campus next month. The conference organizers, who hail from across different disciplines at our college, are extending the proposal deadline to next Friday, 1/17, in hopes that more presenters will send in a breakout session proposal than the current 15. Sessions are either 60 minutes long or 70 minutes. The focus should be on a hands-on demonstration of one or more classroom techniques to enhance active learning. Our very own Katrina and Suzanne have each submitted a presentation proposal. If you wish to showcase and teach a teacher-student engagement method, it is not too late to propose a presentation NOW.
