Phrasal verbs are typically two-word verbs including a verb and a particle. The particle can be an adverbial or a preposition in function. The idiomatic meaning of a phrasal verb aside, an ESL student faces the added challenges of differentiating between a transitive verb and an intransitive verb as well as placing types of objects correctly with a phrasal verb.
