"Teacher Appreciation Day" a la Staples

When I first saw this announcement, the cynical part of my brain wanted to interpret it as something we were once again supposed to be dazzled by thanks to the marketing genius of Staples. And then, the pragmatic part of me took over and realized that this might prove to be a useful bit of shopping for when our semester starts. So, mark your calendar for this coming Saturday, 8/10, when teachers can go into a participating Staples store, grab one of the 100 free, less-than-generous-size bags, strategically stuff it with needed school supplies, and get 20% of what they pay back in their "Staples Rewards" account, which is free to sign up for. That was easy! (Sorry I can't resist it.) Be sure to read the small print on the bottom of the announcement.
