New Academic Vocabulary Lists

Mark Davies, the BYU scholar who created the popular Corpus of Contemporary American English, has recently come out with new academic vocabulary lists grouped into nine categories and organized as word families. These new lists are believed to be more comprehensive and inclusive than the old AWL pioneered by Coxhead. Additionally, the way in which Davies makes his new lists available online facilitates the ability of the users to sort and search the academic words in useful ways.
