Though long criticized as antiquated and unfair to citizens with work and baby-sitting needs, Election Day continues to be on a Tuesday. Even in presidential election years, we only average 55% of voter turnout. But in countries like France, the UK, and New Zealand, where either the election day is a holiday or election is held over the weekend, the turnout is as high as 80%. So, will you join me and call on Congress to move Election Day to the weekend by passing the Weekend Voting Act introduced by Reps. Larson (D-CT) and Israel (D-NY) earlier this month?
