An Effective and Adaptable Way to Teach Synonyms

I've just received an emailed newsletter from a publisher that often contains nuggets of pedagogical wisdom. My latest favorite is using a card game to teach the difference between "look," "see," and "watch." It looks like something to engage our students not only in learning the synonyms but also in practicing speaking and teamwork. I believe the method can be adapted for practicing other word families.
