Our Very Own Christina Fighting for a Worthy Cause

Christina Fatseas, a colleague in our Fallbrook program, has been on a mission to raise the public's awareness of the need to combat HPV, a virus that can cause cancer and that has inflicted itself on Christina and millions of others.

In an email, Christina wrote,

"I am working with a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., who will get me in front of Congress to testify. My mission is to increase awareness of HPV which will yield more research monies & hopefully help control this very awful virus.

When HIV first came into our lives, people died. Then, increased awareness brought money for research. Research yielded a daily cocktail of 36 pills that an HIV patient could take to sustain his/her immune system and life. Now, today, an HIV Positive takes 1 (ONE) pill to stay alive and well. One pill.

Today, there is no cure for HPV and no pill to take. I feel it is because there is a tremendous lack of awareness."
Staff writer Jennifer Dean of Riverside's The Press-Enterprise has just written this story about Christina with quite a bit of good information in it.

Let's root for Christina in her training to fight the virus in her. Let's also lend our support by joining her in spreading her message to get rid of this HPV.
